NPTC Level 4 Certificate in Managing Health and Safety in Agriculture/Horticulture
Qualification summary
To address health and safety issues within agriculture and horticulture for which a need has been identified by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The qualification is aimed specifically at farmers, growers, managers and owners of agricultural and horticultural enterprises with a management structure and aims to provide them with the knowledge to help them protect their own health and safety and the health and safety of employees.
It has been developed as part of a progressive suite of vocational qualifications in health and safety in agriculture and horticulture.

When undertaking a qualification that does not appear on the governments' lists as eligible for funding for specific age ranges, users must be aware of legal requirements. Not all qualifications are suitable for all age ranges.

This qualification allows progression into and within employment in the agricultural and horticultural industries at a management level. Example opportunities available can include the following:
a health and safety manager/inspector/advisor
a tutor/moderator/examiner.
It also offers progression into other generic health and safety qualifications such as the NEBOSH Level 4 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice, or the level 5 NVQ in Health and Safety Regulation.

Coursework
Written Examination
A short answer written paper assesses the knowledge and understanding of unit 01. Candidates must achieve 60% or above in each question in this paper. A work-based assignment assesses the content of unit 02.
Candidates are required to achieve a mark of 60% or above in each component. See qualification handbook.
Candidates must complete BOTH mandatory units.
