Holders of the Professional Diploma in Marketing are able to progress to the next Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification at Level 7, the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.

The Professional Diploma in Marketing provides a variety of skills at an operational level, one of which skills is how to write and execute a marketing plan.

The assignments are first and second marked at the centres, and are then sent to CIM for moderation. there is no independent assessment.
There are four modules in the Professional Diploma in Marketing - Marketing Research & Information, Marketing Planning, Marketing Communications, and Marketing Management in Practice.
