Operatives working at this level in Formwork can, through further training and work experience achieve the level 3 Formwork qualification.

They can also progress to team leader/supervisory qualifications.

The Awarding Body (AB) uses a Computer based touch-screen process, operated by an independent contractor, to assess a mandatory Health and Safety unit within the NVQ qualification. The candidate does not get issued with their NVQ certificate until this test has been achieved. The principle of holistic assessment is positively encouraged by the AB.
