The EDI Level 3 NVQ in Logistics Operations Management provides an up-to-date qualification that has been developed in line with industry needs for those working at a supervisory or team-leading level of responsibility within Logistics Operations.

To achieve the EDI Level 3 NVQ in Logistics Operations Management candidates must achieve three mandatory units covering health, safety and security in Logistics Operations; Logistic requirements of a supply chain; and the compliance of Logistics operations with Legislation, regulations and organisational procedures. In addition to the three mandatory units candidates are required to achieve five optional units from three optional groups.

The EDI Level 3 NVQ in Logistics Operations Management provides candidates with the opportunity to develop further within their current roles within Logistics Operations.

The EDI Level 3 NVQ in Logistics Operations Management provides candidates with the opportunity to develop further within their current roles. On successful completion of this NVQ a candidate may wish to progress onto a Level 4 qualification, or onto further management qualifications.

Competence-based assessment methods are used for this qualification, the NVQ is assessed by an assessor within the centre. To ensure fair assessment, sufficency of evidence and validity, an external verifier aappointed by the awarding body, then samples portfolios and verifies that appropriate systems are in place.
Candidates must complete eight units, comprising the three mandatory units in Group A, plus five optional units from Group B, according to the following rules:

- a minimum of one unit from each of Group B1 (Option Group 1) and Group B2 (Option Group 2);
- three other units to be taken from any of Groups B1, B2 and B3 (Option Groups 1, 2 and 3);
- a maximum of three units from each Option Group can be taken.
