Qualification summary

The BTEC Level 3 Certificate,BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma, BTEC Level 3 Diploma and BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business are designed to equip learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed for progression into employment or further educational opportunities. They also offer a possible progression route from the accredited BTEC Firsts in Business.

The BTEC Level 3 Certificate, BTEV Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma, BTEC Level 3 Diploma and BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business are specialist qualifications that focus on a vocational area which can be used as a ‘full-time’ programme of learning.

They are designed to equip individuals with the skills, knowledge and understanding required for a range of roles in organisations within the business sector including administration, finance/accounts, marketing, management, human resources and law. The qualifications also enable progression to BTEC Higher Nationals or undergraduate degree qualifications and professional occupations in the business world.

These qualifications will:

1) develop a range of skills, knowledge and personal qualities essential for career development and progression within the business and related sectors
2) provide learners with the appropriate knowledge and skills including administration, finance, marketing, health and safety, legal and customer service.
3) contribute towards the knowledge, understanding and skills requirements for a range of level 3 NVQs
4) focus on the practical application of knowledge and the development of the work related skills required for employment in the business and other related sectors.

It provides learners with progression opportunities to higher education. Progression may be to foundation degrees, higher national diplomas or degrees at university.
