HABC Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (QCF)

Qualification summary

The qualification and supporting materials can be used across any business sector. There is an emphasis on ensuring that candidates are able to recognise hazards and be able to take preventative action themselves or pass to a supervisor. The syllabus and need, fits clearly with the targets of the HSE and enforcing authorities and has been designed in conjunction with ENTO, the Sector Skills Council for Health and Social Care.

The Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification is based on the Level 2 National Occupational Standards, produced by the Sector Skills Council, ENTO, for the Health and Social Care Industry.

The method of delivery and syllabus content are designed to encourage individuals to embrace the concept of lifelong learning. The qualification is a free-standing qualification, but can also be used as evidence of knowledge for persons undertaking other qualifications.

The Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is suitable for any business sector. Progression in Health and Safety can take any number of career routes. These include Level 3 Award in Supervising Health and Safety in the Workplace, which includes learning outcomes for candidates with supervisory and management responsibilities.
