The HABC Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness is aimed at learners requiring an introduction to the basics of fire safety. It will provide knowledge and understanding of the causes of fire, how fire risk can be controlled and safe methods of dealing with fires.

The qualification is effective as a standalone programme of learning for those who need an introduction to fire safety. For learners who require further learning the HABC Level 2 Award in Fire Safety provides a progression route for those with the role of a fire warden or basic responsibility for fire safety and a L3 Award in Fire Risk Assessment for learners who will undertake fire risk assessments.
