IMIAL Level 2 Certificate in Business and Administration
Qualification summary
The aim of this VRQ is to provide a national benchmark for the performance of administration personnel. It offers individuals with the opportunity to develop, improve and gain recognition in business administration as it reflects the demands of current working practices and job roles.
IMI Awards offers this VRQ as part of its one–stop shop approach to qualifications. The qualification is flexible and transferable and can therefore be used by any sector, not just the motor industry.
The level 2 qualification is based upon the Council for Administration National Occupational Standards (2007) and its structure is designed to compliment the NVQ. It is also endorsed as a level 2 technical certificate within the CfA Business Administration Apprenticeship. It focuses on a business administration role whose primary responsibility is to provide general administration support to more senior members of the administration team. It aims for candidates to gain knowledge and understanding of the workings of a busy office environment’s practices and systems.
Within the retail motor industry the qualification will help to retain qualified staff in non-technical disciplines. The motor industry includes are huge variety of disciplines and therefore endless opportunities and demand for staff. The industry needs calibre staff not only in the technical specialities, but also in sales, management, marketing, human resources, finance and administration. By providing Administration VRQs for non-technical staff, employers should benefit from improved staff performance and retention, productivity and quality assurance.
