Coaching Gymnastics
Unit summary
This Pathway Unit has been developed by British Gymnastics, the recognised National Source Group (NSGs) composed of the constituent Governing Bodies for Sport (GBS) in the UK (Gymnastics England, Gymnastics Northern Ireland and Welsh Gymnastics) and other employer interests, as appropriate. The GBS are committed to providing services to their sport. The L1CC is a vocational qualification that provides learners with a basic introduction to the practical and theoretical aspects of the coaching of a particular sporting pathway. The knowledge gained will enable learners to begin to develop an understanding of safe, ethical and effective coaching.
The Certificate qualifies learners to deliver coaching activities, assisting other more qualified coaches in the coaching of the skills and techniques of the pathway sport to adults and children. The qualification might be used to generate evidence for a Level 1 S/NVQ in Sport and Recreation and other vocational coaching qualifications.
