City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ in Photo Imaging
Qualification summary
This qualification is part of a new suite of NVQs in Photo Imaging developed to meet the new NOS for Photo Imaging qualifications from Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for audio visual industries.
The NOS offers direction by presenting a range of standards and occupational competence topics that are considered appropriate by industry for inclusion in an NVQ qualification, with recommendations for evidence requirements and resources. The NOS highlights and emphasises what employers want from their staff. The suite of qualifications meets these standards.

This qualification is a part of a suite of qualifications, both VRQs and NVQs, ranging from level 1 through to level 4. Progression directly into employment within the photo imaging industry is also available to candidates upon completion of this qualification.

These NVQs follow the Skillset assessment strategy and are externally verified by City & Guilds. Each unit has evidence requirements and standardised proforma's supplied by City & Guilds.
This qualification comprises ten units.
All candidates must complete the five mandatory units in Group 1.
For the Photography Route, candidates must also complete the mandatory unit in Group 2i, plus two units from Group 2A and two units from Group 2B.
For the Non-photography Route, candidates must also complete three units from Group 3A and two units from Group 3B.
