OCR Level 3 National Certificate in ICT

Qualification summary

This qualification will form part of the OCR Nationals suite. It will provide progression from the OCR level 2 ICT Nationals. The OCR level 3 National Certificate is unit based and has been designed to provide accreditation of the knowledge, skills and understanding that would be needed by an employee using ICT for technically complex tasks.
All units have been mapped to the ICT NOS where possible. Each unit represents a worthwhile achievement in its own right and certification is available at unit level.

This qualification has been developed to provide preparation for employment in ICT, career development opportunities for those already in work, and/or a route into further or higher education. This award will also facilitate progression to achievement of an NVQ within the workplace and is a natural choice for those candidates wishing to progress from the OCR Level 2 National Certificate or similar Level 2 qualification.

There will be no independent assessment. The qualification will be entirely centre-assessed and OCR moderated. Each unit is holistically assessed.
Candidates need to complete 4 mandatory units plus 2 optional units from across Groups C, D, E and F.
