Qualification summary

The AQA Baccalaureate comprises four elements which together demonstrate that students have achieved success in terms of A-levels and wider learning and enrichment activities
- Depth of study - represented by GCE A-levels
- Breadth of study - through AS General Studies, Critical Thinking or Citizenship
- Independent learning through the Extended Project
- Personal development through enrichment activities (see attachment)

The constituent GCE A levels and AS which students take already have a recognised standing. The enrichment activities enhance the skills and personal qualities that employers and universities are looking for. The AQA Bacc comprises recognisable elements and it is anticipated that it will acquire a recognised and valued status.

All AS and A2 units are assessed through independent assessment and holistic assessment is addressed within A2 units. The GCE A-level qualification outcomes - Grades A-E - represent the inputs into the AQA Bacc.
In addition AQA will be quality-assuring the enrichment schemes offered by centres and monitoring that students have completed the required hours in appropriate areas.
